Terms and Conditions for Riders - Along Transport Limited

Welcome to Along Transport Limited! These Terms and Conditions of Use ("Terms") govern your access and use of our mobile application, website, and services (collectively, "Services") as a rider. Along Transport Limited ("we," "us," or "our") provides these Services to you ("Rider," "you," or "your"), subject to the terms outlined below. By accessing and using our Services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Along Transport app and Services as a rider, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any other applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our Services.

2. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our discretion. If we make changes that materially affect your rights, we will notify you through our app or via email. Your continued use of our Services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

3. Eligibility

The Services are not available to persons under the age of 13 or to any users previously suspended or removed from the Services by Along Transport. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age and have not been previously suspended or removed by Along Transport.

4. Account Registration and Use

​

4.1 Account Creation

You must register for an account to use our Services as a rider. During registration, you must provide accurate and complete information as requested. This includes providing your name, contact information, National Identification Number (NIN), Bank Verification Number (BVN) and payment details. You are responsible for keeping this information up-to-date.

4.2 Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You must keep your password secure and notify us immediately of any breach of security or unauthorised use of your account. You agree to use strong passwords and take reasonable measures to protect your account from unauthorised access.

4.3 One Account Per Rider

You may not create more than one personal account. Duplicate accounts may result in suspension or termination of your access to the Services.

5. Service Use Restrictions

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

  • Copying, distributing, or disclosing any part of the Services in any medium.

  • Using any automated system, including robots, spiders, offline readers, etc., to access the Services.

  • Transmitting spam, chain letters, or other unsolicited emails.

  • Attempting to interfere with, compromise the system integrity or security, or decipher any transmissions to or from the servers running the Services.

  • Taking any action that imposes, or may impose at our sole discretion, an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure.

  • Uploading invalid data, viruses, worms, or other software agents through the Services.

  • Collecting or harvesting any personally identifiable information from the Services.

  • Using the Services for any commercial solicitation purposes.

  • Impersonating another person or otherwise misrepresenting your affiliation with a person or entity, conducting fraud, hiding, or attempting to hide your identity.

  • Interfering with the proper working of the Services.

6. Booking and Cancellation

6.1 Booking a Ride

You can book a ride through the Along Transport app by entering your pick-up and drop-off locations. The app will provide you with an estimated fare and an estimated time of arrival for your driver.

​

6.2 Ride Confirmation

Once a driver accepts your ride request, you will receive a confirmation through the app, including the driver's details and estimated arrival time.

​

6.3 Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your ride request at any time before the driver arrives. If you cancel a ride after the driver has been dispatched or if you are not present at the pick-up location within a reasonable time after the driver arrives, a cancellation fee may apply. Repeated cancellations may result in suspension or termination of your account.

7. Payments and Fees

​

7.1 Fare Calculation

Fares are calculated based on a base fare, distance travelled, and time taken for the ride. Additional fees may apply for tolls, surcharges, and other expenses incurred during the ride. The app will provide an estimated fare at the time of booking, but the final fare may vary based on actual trip details.

7.2 Payment Methods

Payments for rides can be made using the payment methods available in the app, including credit/debit cards, mobile wallets, and other electronic payment methods. You must provide valid payment information and authorise us to charge the applicable fares and fees to your chosen payment method.

7.3 In-App Payment Processing

All payments are processed through the Along Transport app. You authorise Along Transport to collect fares and any applicable fees on behalf of the drivers. Along Transport may use third-party payment processors to facilitate payments.

7.4 Receipts

After each ride, you will receive a receipt via email or through the app detailing the fare and any applicable fees. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying the accuracy of the receipt.

8. Promotions and Credits

​

8.1 Promotional Codes

We may offer promotional codes that provide discounts or credits for rides. Promotional codes are subject to specific terms and conditions and may be used only once per account. They are not transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash, and may expire if not used within the specified period.

8.2 Referral Program

We may offer referral programs that allow you to earn credits or discounts by referring new users to Along Transport. Referral credits are subject to specific terms and conditions and may be subject to verification. We reserve the right to modify or terminate referral programs at any time.

9. User Conduct

You agree to behave respectfully and responsibly while using our Services. This includes:

  • Treating drivers and other passengers with respect and courtesy.

  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Not engaging in any inappropriate, abusive, or unlawful behaviour.

  • Not causing damage to the driver’s vehicle or property.

10. Ratings and Reviews

After each ride, you may rate and review your driver. Your feedback helps us maintain a high-quality service. You agree to provide fair and accurate ratings and reviews. Misuse of the rating system may result in suspension or termination of your account.

11. Data Privacy

11.1 Data Collection

We collect personal information you provide directly to us when you use our Services. This includes your name, contact information, National Identification Number (NIN), Bank Verification Number (BVN), location data, transaction information, and any feedback or reviews you provide. 11.2 Data Usage

Your personal information is used to provide, maintain, and improve our Services, process transactions, and communicate with you. We may share your information with third parties for service delivery, legal reasons, or with your explicit consent.

12. Intellectual Property Rights

The Services and all materials contained therein, including, without limitation, Along Transport logo, design, text, graphics, and other files, and the selection and arrangement thereof are the proprietary property of Along Transport or its licensors. You may not use such materials without permission.

13. Third-Party Links

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or resources. You acknowledge and agree that we are not responsible for the availability of such external sites or resources, and do not endorse and are not responsible or liable for any content, advertising, products, or other materials on or available from such sites or resources.

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and bar access to the Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, under our sole discretion, for any reason whatsoever and without limitation, including but not limited to a breach of the Terms.

15. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Along Transport, its officers, directors, employees, and agents, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses arising from: (i) your use of and access to the Services; (ii) your violation of any term of these Terms.

16. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Along Transport, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Services; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Services.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

18. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services will be handled in the competent courts of Nigeria.
